The general objectives of the Facility should be, inter alia, to assist Ukraine to address the social, economic, psychological and environmental consequences of the war; to contribute to the reconstruction, including the peaceful recovery, reconstruction, restoration and modernisation of the country; to foster social and territorial cohesion, democratic, economic, environmental resilience, and progressive integration into the Union and global economy and markets, as well as an upward economic, social and environmental convergence towards Union standards, and to prepare Ukraine for future Union membership by supporting its accession process.
