( f ) if such worker ceases to be in the employment of such person before the expiration of such month and has not been allowed a whole holiday on some working day between such public holiday and such cesser and been paid in respect of such whole holiday a sum equivalent to a full day's pay, such person shall upon such cesser pay to such worker, in addition to any wages then due him, a sum equivalent to a full day's pay.

( b ) Where employment ceases during the five weeks ending on the day before a public holiday and the employee has, during the part of that period before the cesser, worked for the employer for at least 120 hours (or 110 hours if under 18 years of age), the employer shall pay compensation to him in respect of the public holiday consisting of an extra day's pay.

(5) Where an employer is prohibited by this section from permitting workers in his employment to do industrial work for him on a public holiday, such employer shall pay in respect of every public holiday one day's pay (calculated at the rate which would be applicable if such public holiday were a day of annual leave) to every worker who—

( b ) if such member ceases before the expiration of such fourteen days to be in the employment of such proprietor and such member has not been then allowed such whole holiday, such proprietor shall pay to him one day's pay calculated at the rate which would be applicable if such public holiday were a day of annual leave.

Holidays shall be in accordance with the Holidays (Employees) Act, 1973 . Those workers who do not have 19 days paid leave shall be entitled to a total of 19 days paid leave in the holiday year 1981 and thereafter.
(c) Breis-am a oibreofar ar laethanta saoire reachtúla poiblí íocfar as de réir ráta dhá oiread an ráta íosta ab infheidhme in aon chás eile, Le. am dúbailte móide lá saoire in ionad le pá.
( c ) Overtime worked on statutory public holidays shall be paid for at the rate of twice the minimum rate otherwise applicable i.e. double time plus a day off in lieu with pay.

(ii) if such person fails so to allow such worker such whole holiday, such person shall be guilty of an offence under this sub-section and shall be liable on summary conviction thereof to the penalties mentioned in the Schedule to this Act, and shall (whether proceedings for such offence have or have not been taken) pay to such worker in respect of such public holiday a sum equivalent to a full day's pay, but proceedings for such offence or to recover such sum shall not be instituted until the expiration of the employment year of such worker within which such public holiday falls, or, in case such worker has been allowed annual leave, the expiration of such annual leave, or the cesser of his employment (whichever first happens);

( d ) the worker has not received in respect of the holiday a sum equivalent to twice the amount of a full day's pay, and

(ii) if such holiday was Christmas Day, a sum equivalent to a full day's pay in respect of that day, and an additional such sum in respect of St. Stephen's Day.

14 An entity may pay employees for absence for various reasons including holidays, sickness and short-term disability, maternity or paternity, jury service and military service.
