    Comment 1. Following ICCAT usage, a distinction is drawn between:- 'catching vessel' (a fishing vessel used to catch marine biological resources) and- 'fishing vessel' (any vessel equipped for commercial exploitation of marine biological resources or a blue fin tuna trap). 'Fishing vessels' include not only vessels which catch the resources, but also those which transport or process them, as well as vessels which are used for support, towing and transshipment.2. However, in FAO usage, instead of the term 'catching vessel', the term 'fishing vessel' is used to refer to a vessel when it is engaged only in catching operations. And instead of the term 'fishing vessel', the terms 'fishery vessel' or 'fishery fleet' are used in the broader sense to refer to mobile floating objects of any kind and size, operating in freshwater, brackish water and marine waters which are used for catching, harvesting, searching, transporting, landing, preserving and/or processing fish, shellfish and other aquatic organisms, residues and plants.
