Definition system for the trade of natural gas, in which network users can book and use entry and exit capacity independently from each other, and a virtual point exists where network users can freely exchange gas Reference "Com-EN, based on: Study on Entry-Exit Regimes in Gas Part A: Implementation of Entry-Exit Systems. European Commission > Energy > Entry-Exit Regimes in Gas (17.11.2022)"
Comment Gas is brought into the system either at cross-border entry points (pipeline entry or LNG terminal) or at entry points from domestic production. Gas exits the system either at cross-border exits, to directly connected customers at TSO level or at exit points to distribution networks. In addition, most systems have gas storage facilities where system entry and exit is possible. In contrast with the traditionally used contract paths (point-to-point model), entry and exist capacities are generally defined as freely allocable or de-coupled. That means that gas brought into the system at any entry point can be shipped to any exit point within the system. Similarly, each exit point can be supplied from any entry point without any restrictions.
