- Comment Tá na tréithe, na deiseanna agus an caidreamh seo tógtha go sóisialta agus foghlaimítear iad trí phróisis shóisialta. Baineann siad go sonrach le comhthéacs agus le ham, agus tá siad inathraithe. Cinneann inscne an méid a bhfuiltear ag súil leis, a cheadaítear agus a luacháiltear i mbean nó i bhfear i gcomhthéacs áirithe. I bhformhór na sochaithe, tá difríochtaí agus neamhionannais idir mná agus fir maidir le freagrachtaí a shanntar, gníomhaíochtaí a dhéantar, rochtain agus rialú ar acmhainní, chomh maith le deiseanna cinnteoireachta. Is cuid den chomhthéacs soch-chultúrtha níos leithne í inscne. I measc na gcritéar tábhachtach eile le haghaidh anailíse soch-chultúrtha tá aicme, cine, leibhéal bochtaineachta, grúpa eitneach agus aois. Go ginearálta, cuireann boinn tuisceana agus ionchais inscne mná faoi mhíbhuntáiste maidir le teachtadh substainteach ceart, amhail saoirse chun gníomhú agus a bheith aitheanta mar dhaoine fásta neamhspleácha, lánchumasacha, chun páirt a ghlacadh go hiomlán i bhforbairt eacnamaíoch, shóisialta agus pholaitiúil, agus chun cinntí a dhéanamh maidir lena gcúinsí agus a ndálaí. Tá sé tábhachtach freisin an téarma inscne a thuiscint i gcomhthéacs na féiniúlachta inscne.
