- Sainmhíniú "soil texture of a loamy soil containing 74-88% silt, 20-50% sand and 0-27% clay" Tagairt "COM-EN, based on: IUSS Working Group WRB. 2022. World Reference Base for Soil Resources. 'International soil classification system for naming soils and creating legends for soil maps' (25.1.2023). 4th edition. International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS), Vienna, Austria."
- Nóta "According to the FAO’s Guidelines for Soil Description (26.1.2023), the characteristics of this texture are as follows: it can be rolled into a wire of about 3–7 mm in diameter but breaks when trying to form this wire into a ring of about 2–3 cm in diameter. Other characteristics depend on the clay content:- clay-rich silt loam (10-27% clay) is a non-grainy, distinctly floury and somewhat sticky texture that is moderately cohesive, adheres to the fingers and has a rough and ripped surface after squeezing - clay-poor silt loam (<10% clay) is very floury and not cohesive, with some grains to feel."
