- Sainmhíniú "electrophoretic procedure carried out using a polyacrylamide gel and used to separate a mixed sample of proteins in order to identify and quantify single proteins from the mixture" Tagairt "COM-Terminology Coordination, based on: 'Polyacrylamide Gel Electrophoresis' (1.4.2022), Cleaver Scientific"
- Nóta "There are several types of PAGE technique in use. The most common is SDS-PAGE, which involves using the detergent sodium dodecyl sulfate to denature the proteins and normalise their mass-to-charge ratio (m/z); as a result of denaturation, the proteins separate in the gel based on their mass alone. PAGE without SDS is known as 'native PAGE' because the proteins remain in their native state."
