    Sainmhíniú multidisciplinary network of 30 national early warning mechanisms which collect, appraise and rapidly disseminate information on new drugs and products that contain them. It is implemented by the EMCDDA, in cooperation with Europol, the EMA and the European Commission. The EU EWS works by collecting information on the appearance of new substances, and then monitoring them for signals of harm, allowing the EU to respond rapidly to emerging threats.
