Sainmhíniú "financial commitment by donors to subsidise purchase, at a set price, of an as yet unavailable vaccine against a specific disease causing high morbidity and mortality in developing countries - if it meets a specified target product profile and is in demand by GAVI-eligible countries - with the goal of motivating increased supplier participation and investment to accelerate the introduction of life-saving vaccines in the world’s poorest countries" Tagairt "COM-EN, based on:1) WHO. The pilot was launched in February 2007 in Rome by the governments of Italy, UK, Canada, Russia, Norway together with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation http://esango.un.org/innovationfair/notes/gavi.pdf (09.10.2009)"
