    Comment The solar panels are mounted and fixed to floating supports, which are then joined together to form a larger solar array. This sits on the water surface and is anchored to the shore or water bed. The electricity produced by the installation is routed to inverters, usually stationed on land, and the energy can be fed into the grid or used directly at the site of production with no difference to an installation on dry land.

    Comment Comme leur nom l'indique, les centrales photovoltaïques flottantes sont donc des parcs solaires dont les panneaux sont déployés sur d'importantes surfaces d'eau. L'installation des centrales photovoltaïques flottantes peut donc être réalisée sur les étendues d'eau et autres réservoirs où se trouve un volume important d'eau. De nombreuses possibilités existent donc pour installer une centrale photovoltaïque flottante, d'un bassin de traitement d'eau à une retenue de barrage en passant par un réservoir artificiel.
