Sainmhíniú unit within the Directorate-General for Human Resources and Security of the European Commission dealing with human resources (HR) tasks on behalf of a group of directorates-general and services of the European Commission Tagairt COM-EN
Nóta The AMCs were set up by an ‘HR modernisation project’ resulting from a ‘synergies and efficiencies review’, with the aim of delivering the Commission’s priorities more effectively in the face of staff cuts imposed by the EU Member States. To test the system, a pilot involving a limited number of DGs started on 16 July 2016. The system was extended to the rest of the Commission (in what was termed ‘the second phase of the pilot’) on 16 January 2017.There were eight AMC units, each serving a group of DGs/services. Each unit consisted of four teams: organisational development; recruitment and performance; talent management; and health and wellbeing — working conditions. These teams provided their client DGs/services with day-to-day HR administration and support services in accordance with the priorities set by the HR Business Correspondent of that DG/service.The AMCs ceased to exist on 16 February 2022, when DG HR was reorganised again, putting the staff dealing with each process in a single unit, instead of eight separate units (the AMCs).
