Definition energy content of road- and rail- transport fuels supplied for consumption or use on the market, taking into account petrol, diesel, natural gas, biofuels, biogas, renewable liquid and gaseous transport fuels of non-biological origin, recycled carbon fuels and electricity supplied to the road and rail transport sectors Reference "COM-Terminology Coordination, based on: Directive (EU) 2018/2001 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources (recast) "
Comment Multipliers for renewable electricity supplied for the transport sector should be used for the promotion of renewable electricity in the transport sector and in order to reduce the comparative disadvantage in energy statistics. Since it is not possible to account for all electricity supplied for road vehicles in statistics through dedicated metering, such as charging at home, multipliers should be used in order to ensure that the positive impacts of electrified renewable energy-based transport are properly accounted for. Options should be explored to ensure that the new demand for electricity in the transport sector is met with additional generation capacity of energy from renewable sources.

Definition energy from renewable sources produced within a local or district level perimeter of the building assessed, which fulfils all the following conditions:(a) it can only be distributed and used within that local and district level perimeter through a dedicated distribution network; (b) it allows for the calculation of a specific primary energy factor valid only for the energy from renewable sources produced within that local or district level perimeter; and (c) it can be used on-site at the building assessed through a dedicated connection to the energy production source, that dedicated connection requiring specific equipment for the safe supply and metering of energy for self-use of the building assessed; Reference "COM-EN, based on: Proposal for a Directive on the energy performance of buildings (recast), COM/2021/802 final"
Comment "The concept of nearby is very important. It is necessary for the definition of nearly zero energy buildings. There is no clear distinction between 'local' and 'district'. However, these are typical terms used to refer to areas. District tends to refer more to an area within a city (e.g. served by a district heating system), while local refers to the vicinity or to small villages/cities. District is largely synonymous to 'neighbourhood'. The terms are not related to 'block' or to 'onsite/on-site/on site'."
