Nóta Fanggerät der Hochsee-, Küsten-und Binnenfischerei (Aalschnur). Sie wird zum Fang von großen, einzeln lebenden und schnell schwimmenden Fischen (Thun, Hai, Lachs, Kabeljau, Aal) oder auch auf Fangplätzen, die mit anderen Fanggeräten nicht befischt werden können, eingesetzt (unreiner Meeresgrund). Die Konstruktion der Langleine ist dem Fangobjekt und dem Fangfahrzeug angepasst. Die Langleine besteht aus der Hauptleine (aus Sektionen zusammengesetzt), deren Tiefe durch die Länge des Bojenreeps bestimmt wird. Die Länge der Hauptleine erreicht bei Thunangelleinen 160 km. Von der Hauptleine führen die Mundschnüre zu den Haken, die mit natürlichen Ködern besteckt werden
