- Sainmhíniú 1. crime of making an illegal copy of a document or recording or banknote to use as if it were a real one; he was sent to prison for forgery. 2. illegal copy; the signature was proved to be a forgery. 3. defined in the Criminal Code, R.S.C. 1970, c.
